• The first step is the collection of various materials such as NaCl, distilled water, a conductivity meter, a pH meter, a thermometer and a glass container with a lid.
  • Calculate the concentration of salt solutions needed for testing standards.
  • Clean the container and pour the required amount of distilled water.
  • Measure the required amount of sodium chloride to be used with a precise scale.
  • After measuring the salt, dissolve into the distilled water.
  • Check the pH of the solution with the help of a pH meter. It should be 6.5 – 7.2.
  • If the pH is less or more than the required amount then adjust it by adding HCL which lowers the pH and for adjusting conductivity add some distilled water.
  • Maintain the temperature level of the solution.
  • The next step is to filter the solution which is an optional step.
  • Seal the solution to prevent any contaminations.
  • Verify the solution; ie: check its pH, conductivity and salt concentration.
